Again with my husband just 20 months ago when he died, HE got an allowance, even though I was his carer and was retired. Steve would need to apply for PIP. Don't be put off claiming some assessments are good some not so. The benefits advisor should be able to help.<br /><br />You're correct re carers allowance. I was in the last group of women to get their state pension at 60 and carers allowance for my daughter stopped.
