Cry wolf
We have had an escaped wolf wandering around, a few people tried to catch it thinking it was a German Shepherd dog!
The wolf named Torak escaped from the nearby Wolf Conservation Trust there is disagreement as to whether he escaped during the recent stormy weather when a tree fell and damaged the fence to his enclosure or whether a gate was deliberately left open.
He was recaptured unharmed before long.

I'm so pleased he was captured unharmed. So often the authorities shoot them just as they did when wolves escaped from Colchester zoo!
I was worried about that too, but the police were happy to catch him alive.
He probably had a fab time wandering the neighbourhood. Thank goodness no one was harmed. We get the occasional fox around my neighbourhood (displaced by destruction of their habitat) but they are quite shy and take off when approached.
It was fantastic news that they were able to have such a happy outcome. I think that the fact that the wolves at the conservation trust have relatively high levels of regular human contact & interaction compared to most zoo/wildlife park animals contributed greatly to the fact that the were able to contain & capture Torak unharmed.
if someone did force the gate because they 'disagree with animals being kept in captivity' as I saw in one report then they should feel thoroughly ashamed of themselves as their actions could have led in other circumstances to that magnificent animal being destroyed....far worse than it living in captivity!!
Yes, I saw about him on the news. So glad they didn't have to shoot him.
