Catchup post.

The emergency cord alarm system seems to have been repaired.

Steve has given up all his gardening chores, if he has done so permanently I shall replant the areas nearest the front door with perennials.

The residents are becoming suspicious about Steve's medical appointments, I think they realise that no-one needs two months of thrice weekly injections, MRI scan and cameras down the throat and up the bum for arthritis in the knee.

If I'm asked what ails him, I do an impression of Manuel from Fawlty Towers and say "I know nothing".

Betty's bowling season has finished so I'm hoping to see more of her at the garden get togethers.

What a brilliant response! Such poise! Such restraint!

Good to see you back after a quiet week and to know you have a workable strategy for questions relating to Steve’s health.
It’ll be great to see more of Betty too.
Keep on keeping on!

It must be apparent to those neighbours that Steve has a problem . . in fact many problems, so they should make allowances or avoid him and his announcements about his appointments and illnesses. I'm shocked that the doctor has 'outed' you to Steve, thus causing even more problems for you and nowhere for you to to discuss how to cope.

I'm glad you will see your friend, Betty, more now. Hope you have time to getaway to your daughter's house, too.

Mine has rheumatoid arthritis - has had lungs drained of fluid several years ago - plus op on foot ,elbow and hand - Only one appt at hospital per year and he injects himself once per month with medicine - Steve's appts do seem a bit keen x

If I purchased one of the cubes you suggested Steve would just pile more gibble on top of it.
