Walk a mile in my shoes.

Everything here is at standstill, I'm waiting for news about my new accommodation. These things take time and I need to be patient.

I'm going back to the audiologist tomorrow as my aids are shrieking and whistling. They are driving me mad!

I went to the summer house y'day for a fish supper, it was very pleasant but I didn't stay long as I couldn't hear the conversation. One particular resident seems to have voted herself in as Queen of the May and has decided she needs to share her opinions of my dog with me. When she first moved in she complained about Beano barking incessantly, this was on a day when we were visiting friends on their narrow boat and had taken Beano with us. When I explained this she proceeded to approach the neighbours hoping to find someone to back her up, no one would.

The Queens current topic of complaint is that Beano needs grooming. I am aware of this but I'm also aware that Beano would find this terrifying. He is ok as he is, he would look tidier if he was groomed but I'm not prepared to put him through unnecessary stress just to suit the opinions of the Queen.

As life stands at the moment I would also look better if I was better groomed. It's not something that I'm interested in. I'm clean but a bit dishevelled.

Oh it's horrible when people who don't know the facts (and won't accept that there are reasons why Beano is terrified of being groomed) then proceed to find fault with how you look after him. Grrrr! Says it all when she won't accept that you were not even in the area when Beano was accused of incessant barking. Blooming busybody!! I hope you can get your whistling, screaming hearing aids sorted by someone who knows what they're doing. Stand next to a wall and let them 'enjoy' the noise!!!

"You do you and tell her to ****** off as he's your dog who you know best for him" this was my first response but perhaps you should delete it,

If I was planning on staying here I would tell her exactly that but as I'm planning on moving away I will probably just ignore her. Mind you I may wait until my last day here and then tell her to **** off, loudly!

There is always someone who thinks they are more equal than anyone else but usually are mega pains in the arse, love your last day plan. You are fully entitled to be dishevelled, I see you as a lovely swan about to grow from dancing to her own tune. Wishing you all the things you wish yourself and a speedy move to better times. She's a nosey bizzybody. Don't worry about being a bit disheveled, I am veering towards being a slob.

Oh, how nice it will be when your hearing aids are fixed and you and Beano have your own peaceful home. I hope you don't have to wait too long. Best of luck to you.

There is always some busybody who knows-it-all. I hope that you get your hearing aids sorted soon. Let's hope that your new accommodation is also sorted very soon. Patience is not my strong suit at all, I praise you for your patience. Carole R

Isn't it annoying when people think they know what's best for you and yours? As for looking dishevelled....I think one of the advantages of getting older is that we no longer care about fashion. Well, I don't anyway. I hope you and Beano are settled in a new place soon, and able to live life the way you want to.

Hold that thought and look forward to the day when you can tell her to naff off and walk away. I hope that day comes around soon and also hope you can keep up your friendship with Betty once you've moved x

Horrible woman - It's none of her business - One of my dogs could be far better coiffed but he Hates being messed about - I am able to trim a bit and a little check of things and rinsing in the bath - He would panic at the groomers and I wont distress him for appearances - The vets is a different matter though - He has to wear a muzzle and would bite - People who don't know their history shouldn't assume - flis xx
