You did what!

At least 3 of my work colleagues will have been on the pavement outside Next from silly o'clock waiting for them to open at 6am.

In the same queue will be the woman who's husband had to pay her bills last month as she spent £350 on Black Friday.

As she explained to me yesterday when I saw her, she needs to go to the Next sale to save money as she spent too much on Black Friday and again at Christmas!

I don't know what to say. It amazes me how people convince themselves that what they are doing is right.

I suppose you could say thank God for people like that who are keeping importers and shop assistants in work!!

This kind of stupidity must be catching, it's all over the country like a rash, Hester! How can people be bamboozled into thinking that spending money is saving money? But a lot of people think this. The best way to save money is NOT TO SPEND IT IN THE FIRST PLACE and ONLY TO BUY WHAT YOU REALLY NEED, and NOT WHAT YOU WANT! Oh, if only need and want could be explained to more people ... But as Sue in Suffolk says, the good thing is that they keep manufacturers and shopkeepers employed!

Haven't seen a single thing in the sale emails that is remotely interesting , in fact I intend to sleep and eat into the new year while barely travelling a hundred yards

Brilliant! I wonder how many of the woman's bargains will be put in a cupboard and forgotten about, never to be gifted! That woman doe NOT have more money than sense, she has none of either.

The mind boggles! As a teenager I worked part-time in a Department store and as a junior I always had to work the Boxing Day sales! I always swore that when I was older I'd never go near a mall on Boxing Day and I never have!

Only spend today was a carton of milk and some diesel for the car. I have lost all interest in so called sales. DH's tablet computer has finally died so we will wait until after the sales and returns are over and have a look around then. He will probably agree to finally get one about April 2017 when he has said yes/ no about a thousand times. We have a shared laptop so he'll probably stick with that for now. He never feels he deserves to spend money on himself so I'll leave him to it! Need to do some house tidying and then the sewing machine is coming out to use up some stash. Catriona

Yip. I know folk like that. We popped out as Dd had vouchers for New Look and managed to snaffle shoes for boy from Clarks for cheap buy we won't be out sale shopping again. It's a con. Just so happened boy needed shoes.

New neighbours.

A couple of days ago I met the couple who have purchased one of the flats here. The flat is over two floors, has two bedrooms, two bathrooms...
