More training needed

My grandson is 15, he had a supply teacher in class today, while she handed out pens, he kindly wrote on the whiteboard how many pens she'd giving out, 15... he wrote pen15 (penis) on the board and she thanked him!

He then realised that on the back of the worksheet, there was a QR code, which took him to a PDF with the answers on... Seriously, had she not taught teenagers before

These days the work is usually supplied by the class teacher. Don't blame the ST. Mind you She should have spotted Penis!

He sounds charming , not , maybe teach him some respect ?

I agree with Anonymous, some respect wouldn't go amiss. However I assume that by posting this you were oblivious of the lack of respect. No doubt when you yourself are shown a lack of respect by teenagers you'll be complaining.

It's possible to both think a teenager's behavior is funny and make clear to them that it's unacceptable at the same time. Which I'm sure this particular teenager's parents and grandparents are absolutely doing.

Sometimes it's hard to keep a straight face, isn't it!

I wasn't oblivious to the lack of respect, it just made me laugh. Let's face it I have little enough to laugh about these days.

I know how the work is provided so I know who left the code on the worksheet, it should have been spotted and blanked out.

If you are going to teach teenagers you need you wits about you.

It can be hard work being a supply teacher, and I say that from experience. At the end of the day if kids cheat at classwork they are the only losers. The answers won't be on the back in the GCSE.
