I've had a letter today from DWP, my pension is going up by £2 week, somehow I don't think that will pay for the repair to the fence.

Home again, home again, jiggety jig.
I can't say I'm pleased to be home, Steve sulked for the first few hours but I ignored him. There is no point doing anything else. A...

Insurance? Altho have had that said to me and when I checked the excess and possible increase in premiums just had to grit my teeth and pay. Hope the boat is okay.
I hope you can get that sorted...Are you safe from the storm?
Sorry to hear that Storm Doris has caused you damage - and that the pension increase won't help much! But I'm absolutely delighted to find you again. When I was faced with the 'blog no longer exists' message, I thought you had disappeared on your boat with no wifi or any way of keeping in touch with all your followers.
I found you again via your comment on John Gray's blog - thank goodness. Looking forward to hearing all about life on your narrowboat. Happy days!
That's an interesting point from Rambler re internet access - what will your arrangements be once installed in (or is it on?) the boat?

We should be able to get wifi, it is available for boats.
We lost a fence panel too but stopped Doris getting more
My brother said it was pretty rough in his marina but no real damage done to any of the boats. He feared for the tonneau cover but it held fast and in the end it was his lifebelt which flew away, despite being tied down. Other people lost fenders and aerials, but otherwise ok. It was a whole new experience for him, but he survived - and, dare I say it, he quite enjoyed hunkering down in the boat and riding out the storm. Even the marina wifi survived the assault.
Oh no! Sorry about the damage. Good news about your pension but it goes up so little and the cost of everything else goes up a lot!
Why is it when you have fence damage the stores don't have any decent fencing in? Thought we were quick to get down there- but everything had already gone. Our fence repairs will have to wait for their restocking!
