Damn their eyes

Or rather, damn mine.

Hospital today, just a regular ophthalmology check-up, but unfortunately some bad news, I now have a macular traction in my right eye.

This is what I had in my right eye, I had surgery, a sodding great needle stuck in my eye. The procedure failed and I ended up with a split retina, limited close vision in my left eye and sod all distance vision.

And now it is happening with my right eye, oh bugger. I'm not bothered about the procedure, it is unpleasant but not painful, but if I lose the sight in my other eye I will by truly and seriously buggered.

From ophthalmology I went to audiology to get my hearing aids checked, and they replaced both as the tubes were getting stiff.

Hopefully I will be able to follow conversations better now, I was beginning to get like Alf Garnett's wife, always 2 conversations behind!

Oh poor you, anything to do with eyes isn't nice. Mr.T has to have a small op on one of his eyes soon. As for hearing, he has just started to wear the hearing aids after I badgered him, I got fed up with saying everything 3 or 4 time, lol

Oh, Hester, this is awful news, I do hope that something can be done for you. Chris's brother has macular degeneration in both eyes and now can't drive. Thinking of you and sending hugs.

Any retribution for the damage last time? Didn't someone have to answer for the error?

It was 'just one of those things' I was unlucky, but I don't want to be unlucky again, that's for sure.

There's not a speck of fun in getting older is there, it just like owning an old car the repairs get worse and worse

I had this and was given the option of leaving it to see if it freed itself.
I left it and it did . I was left with a small distortion of vision in the centre. This is hardly noticible.
My brother opted for surgery and was left with a large amount of distorted vision in the cntre, but his retina was already being pulled away so no option there. He was going to lose his sight in that eye if he left it.
Hope everything goes ok for you.

Wardrobe

We have a wardrobe in the bedroom that was left by the previous resident. It is perfectly sound but it smells of stinky feet. I've tried...
