Who's a genius?

Not me, that's for sure but unfortunately since his stroke Steve is convinced he's brighter than most. He has purchased stuff for the flat without consulting me and then not got what he thought he'd ordered! This obviously ends up being all my fault.

Beano on the other hand is very bright, he runs rings round Steve and Steve doesn't realise.

If Beano wants a chicken treat and neither Steve or I will give him one, he asks to go outside for a wee. When he gets back Steve immediately gives him a treat on his return.

Dogs are clever.

We have a Jack Russell and Cairn mix, bright and stubborn, who bosses DH about. She likes her routine and has got him well trained with her yaps and glares. He tries to put her off, but she won’t give in, having learnt the word, “NOW!” from the cat.
Somehow she demands to go outside just before the goal in whatever football match he is watching.
She lets him know that his frequent, loud phone calls annoy her; she starts barking so he can’t hear, and he leaves the room.
When he is out she is much more relaxed.

Dogs are definitely clever and know how to wrap us round their paws. Like Nelliegrace above, Betty is far more relaxed when husband is out, he winds her up too much.

Whenever one of my dogs who isn't quite yet house trained ( after 6 years ) toilets outside he returns expectantly inside for his reward - Another only returns indoors after pausing outside with wide eyes until I show him a biscuit - Small dog convinces me that I have forgotten to give him his favoured treat after his meal - Most recent dog has made it a rule that whenever she goes into the garden day or night - even in the Early hours - a little something is expected on her return - She now scratches the door repeatedly to go outside soon after x

Dogs can train us. My sister in law had a dog that would repeatedly beg to go out, even in the middle of the night, have a sniff around and then come back in to the expectation of a treat for having 'gone'.

BBQ in the garden.

Steve's in the garden, manning the BBQ, I did go over but the only seats left were in  the sun and it's 30 degrees. It's far too...
