Easter Hols

I am determined to get a few jobs done over the Easter break, so I've started some prep. Last weekend I dug a hole in the crap in the spare room, the one without a bed in it. A couple of evenings this week have been spent sorting out summer skirts I can no longer wear & by this morning I had this.

An hours ironing & I have this

A nice assortment, but not much of it goes together, I'll have to have a think, I'm reluctant to spend any money, so I'll need to see what else I can find.

Can you not make a simple skirt in one fabric, then bind it with homemade binding from one of the others? You have lots of blue/white stuff there, and it is surprising what a difference a bit of contrast trim makes! I fully understand your reluctance to spend - but buying a binding maker has saved me a fortune over the years, a good investment!

Hi Angela, I can't wear skirts of any sort, only dresses, I'm making a couple of dresses from some other fabric

Hi Froogs, there is loads of fabric there, I'm just not sure enough of it goes together. I have a double bed sized piece of batting & some old sheets for backing. It's the colours that I'm stuck on, I don't think the navy with pink/red flowers goes with the brown sparkly fabric or the grey & purple. I'll have another delve through my stash today to see what else I can find.

Food pantry

I've joined the local food pantry and today I visited for the first time. My daughter took me as it was my first visit and I was worried...
