Some good news

We've had 2 lots of good news this week, firstly one of our nephews & his GF have bought their first house together, they are only in their mid 20's so have done incredibly well to get on the housing ladder so young. they both have good jobs & work really hard.
Second lot of good news is that my son has joined the fire brigade, it's not that easy to get in & it has taken him 2 years hard slog, but he's in & he's happy.
Unfortunately I think the exhaust is blowing on my car, hey ho, I'll get it fixed at the weekend I hope.

Great news. It shows it can be done. I pray that my hard working, degree educated 20 something's will one day be able to buy their own homes. It is so hard for them these days!

Isn't it wonderful to have good news like that - hopefully it helps to balance the nuisance news about the car. Congrats to the young couple and your son.

Good news indeed!

Our local fire service is so hard to get into if you don't have a relative there. He did great. may he have a long and safe career.

Ah! So this is where you have been hiding!! I was worried in case they had traded in for a ream or two of photocopying paper!!! Yes, I go that far back!! I'm so glad you seem to be well and back at the helm!!
Well done to your son! Mine has been trying to get into the Brigade for about 5 years, so I know how difficult it is. You must be very proud. Now you will worry about him though!!! So glad I have found you again!!

Thank you for all the comments.
Welcome Rabbitquilter, I'm glad you found me too.
I agree it's hard for kids these days to get on their career path and to get on the housing ladder.

Congrats to the young'uns, Happy Ostara and I hope that mending the car isn't too bloomin' expensive.

Also, I'm awestruck that you manage your time to be able to crochet for at least an hour a night, on top of all your blogging and gardening and cooking!

Food pantry

I've joined the local food pantry and today I visited for the first time. My daughter took me as it was my first visit and I was worried...
