Mid Year Appraisal

I'm still crap, lol. The appraisal is full of inconsistencies, mistakes & some outright bollocks.

Thank you, yes it is soul destroying, not one positive comment in 5 pages of complaint.
Unfortunately I'm not tough, I'm just too old to get a job elsewhere & have 8 years left on my mortgage!

I thought appraisal was a two way process where strengths and development needs were mutually agreed. If your "bosses" have all the complaints, when will they provide training to help you "improve" your performance. I think you will soon have a case for constructive dismissal but as Aidan Kashogi famously said, " Don't let the ba****ds get you down. Notvery long til your summer break now and you can spend it with all your lovely grandchildren. Catriona

We have appraisals at work but they really don't mean anything at all. We all get the same (pathetic) pay rise however well you do - except if you do exceptional! One woman at work got a really good review - the highest you could get and then was told a couple of days later that it was a mistake. Apparently because she had done so well she would have got additional money. She wouldn't have been so mad but the assistant director had sat down with her and gone through the whole thing step by step. She only accepted the second one because she's older and - sadly - was afraid she would end up losing her job if she fought too much.
