Childcare duties.

I spent a few hours looking after some of the grandchildren today, I cleared the kitchen whilst I was there, got some washing in off the line and made the children their evening meal as well. It was only macaroni cheese but it went down well and the children cleared their plates.

The children were all very good for me, I got a lift home and brought a bag of wet washing with me that I will dry overnight.

I fed Beano when we arrived home, hung the wet washing on my airers. I turned my dehumidifier on and my heating up for 30 minutes.  The washing will all be dry by morning and can be swapped for more wet washing if necessary.

The clocks went forward last night, I don't have to do anything, I don't have a clock in the bungalow. I use my phone or my kindle if I want to know the time. I don't set an alarm for the morning as I'm usually awake by 5 am and Beano will wake me by 7 am at the latest as he wants his morning walk.

You sound so well organized, I envy you! And what a good arrangement you have with your daughter - a quid pro quo that benefits you both.

I help with my grandsons sometimes, too, and it always feel good to spend time with them. It's nice to feel useful and helpful. We can still make a difference in this world.

I often used to look after my grandchildren who live locally, they are now all in their 20s. But today I'm looking after my grandaughter's 9 week old whippet puppy at my daughter's house. They take turns to work from home but today there is an importance meeting to attend. I have hung out one load of washing and folded the dry clothes.
Bet your grandchildren love having you around.
