I don't mind the heat but it does affect my eyesight which is quite scary. I know I will go blind at some point which is a worry but there is no treatment available so all I can do is keep buggering on.
It's too hot for Beano to walk far but unfortunately since he will not go to the toilet in my garden I still have to take him out regularly.
This morning I took him out at 4 o'clock for about an hour, when we got home I went back to bed and slept until just after 7 o'clock when I took him out again for another hour. He will just have to manage with trips to the grass verge outside the bungalow until this evening, when hopefully it will cool down again
Autumn group today, if Beano will walk that far I shall take his cool mat with me to keep him comfortable. I'd happily leave him at home but If he cries it annoys my neighbour so I take him most places with me.

I wonder if it might be possible to get Beano a haircut. Here in Texas, we can count on hot summers. Many people get their dog's hair cut very short--- maybe just once a year. My Yorkies have longer cuts in winter and short in summer. Isn't it wild how dogs are particular about where they do their business? Mine have a large back yard and doggy doors. They prefer to wait until whenever I take them for their daily walk. May be 11:00 AM or 3:00 PM. Many different walking routes, so they are not attached to one area.
I'm hoping to make an appointment for him soon, he will hate it but I think it will make him more comfortable.
I struggle to cope with this very hot weather so I do feel sorry for dogs with thick coats/ I'm sure Beano will appreciate what you're doing for him anyou have grass around you d feel much more comfortable. The heat from pavements and roads causes so much damage to tender paws yet some owners seem oblivious to their dogs' needs. Im glad Beano gas grass to walk on. xx
I wish it were hot here! It's May and not really cold but I just can't seem to warm up. Haven't heard from you in a bit, just hoping that you are okay.
