Money

Hubby's friend is receiving a large pay out from his wife's job, as she died so young her 'death in service' payment is huge.
It is a very sad way to receive money but he will have enough to put a roof over his head for the foreseeable future.

I did all the calculations, I worked out the finances and made the decision that I would retire by Christmas 2017, woohoo, I was on a count down.

Over the weekend I checked out the figures my L&M had given me for his side of the plans.

I have no idea what he was thinking of but he made a huge miscalculation.

I will now be working for another 3 to 5 years, to say I'm devastated would be putting it mildly, I shall be trundling round at work with a Zimmer frame!

To be fair he was working from some information that we had asked for, unfortunately the information was incomplete.

We are fortunate and do not have a mortgage but live very well on £300 a week. If you have less check out what the gov will give you

I'm so sorry...you deserve a break...why don't you start a Go Fund Me Account...everyone else does!

What a disappointment! Hopefully it won't be as long as 3-5 years when you've researched everything people recommend.

Thanks Kelley, but I don't think a Go Fund Me Account is my thing.
Laura and Jim, if I gave up work we would be entitled to some help, unfortunately we live in a very expensive area so whilst we could pay the bills we couldn't afford to eat as well. We need to sell up to clear the mortgage, but then we will be in a top floor flat in an insalubrious area.

Stew

Y'days lamb was delicious and there is lots left. So today I'm making a stew, I'll use half of the left over lamb and add onion ...
