It been too hot to do anything, even to post on here. Beano is being walked very early when it's still cool and mid morning when we go to the nearest patch of grass for him.
Apart from that we've just lazed about doing nothing.
We have a few cooler days coming up which will be better for him. I don't mind the heat but I do try to keep Beano cool.
Unfortunately he hates water so I can't put a paddling pool out for him or use a cool coat. I've tried many things and he does have a couple of cool mats to lay on, but he'd rather sleep pressed against my legs.

I didn't even walk mine for 3 days - The house is usually cold but is uncomfortable now - Mr has bought a air con machine - It only helps a little though x
I often wonder how dogs with heavy coats can stand the heat. Beano doesn't look too shaggy.
Heavy (double) coated dogs do fine in this weather. We've always had double coated dogs (Norwegian Elkhounds, Rough Collies, and now a Spitz) and they do just fine. The Vet explained how it works and the worst thing you can do to these breeds is shave them in the summer. We just keep lots of bowls of water available and freshen them every couple of hours.
