Beano couldn't settle y'day evening, there were fireworks being set off and they were bothering him. He kept pacing, whimpering and looking towards the window every time there was another flash or bang.
He's never bothered about fireworks before but he definitely seemed unsettled.
There have been fireworks going off for some time round here staring with Diwali on 20th October. Beano took no notice of them or the fireworks this evening. I wonder what it was about y'days fireworks that upset him.
When I returned from walking him this morning a neighbour was packing her car. I stopped to chat to her as she had her two dogs with her and Beano likes both of them. She told me they were going to Bournemouth for a week to get away from the fireworks. Don't they have fireworks in Bournemouth?

Think your neighbours might be unlucky in Bournemouth, they have a big firework display on Saturday!!
Poor Beano, although our rescue Lhasa is sketchy about quite a few things, fireworks don't bother him. The 2 Springer Spaniels we had together for 13 years were terrified and tried to hide in the smallest places you could imagine.
We don't get many fireworks here in rural North Yorkshire, but friends and family who live in cities are driven mad by them at this time of year.
One of my daughter's dogs is so scared of fireworks and thunderstorms. He always needs extra care when it happens.
Could you play some music to help settle Beano? Maybe if he could hear that rather than the fireworks? I HATE fireworks with a passion, despite their prettiness.
I live in Bournemouth and yes there are lots of fireworks here- used to dread this time every year as our dog got so upset but now she is older almost 13 she has gone deaf which is a blessing at firework time which seems to last for weeks.
One of mine is terrified of the fireworks - She runs upstairs and hides for hours - She trembles and refuses her evening meal - After it stops between 1 am - after 3am she returns downstairs and will eat - flis xx
