I'm suffering from gout, it's something that flares up now and again.
It's painful and inconvenient and it's made worse by Steve regularly shouting at me about it.
Steve can't bear anyone to be ill or in pain as it detracts from his need to be the centre of attention.
He keeps telling me to go to the Dr, I did when I first started getting gout. The Dr said that gout was self limiting and to take paracetamol if I found it painful.
Obviously Steve also developed gout short!y after I did, he also went to the Dr, he was given medication for the gout and co-codamol for the pain!

Doctors definitely take men a lot more seriously than they take women with exactly the same problems or illnesses. Even women doctors!!
Gout is horrendous, my husband has it. He was put on allupurinol and that has been effective. Maybe you can ask your doctor about that specifically (although he's been on it years, so there may be newer meds available)
Gout is a b*tch, you might consider visiting your GP again. There are drugs that my reduce the severity of the Gout.
Any way carry on ignoring him that likes to be the centre of things. I do hope your plans for separate accommodation come to fruition sooner rather then later
Sorry to hear you have gout.My mother developed it in her hands when she was about 70 and apparently it was caused by the BP medication she had taken for about 30 years unchecked. Keep your hands warm if possible and take paracetamol if you can. Kind thoughts to you as always. Catriona
I do hope you’re gout eases soon - it would be one less thing to worry about - and that you’re accommodation is resolved too. I’m sure many who read your blog are very concerned or you and Beano. Kindest regards x
Sorry to hear you are in pain. Hope you are better soon.
