Sewing

I'm making a little quilted blanket for a dog who's owner has admired Beano's blanket., It's made from some summer dresses that I no longer wear as they were developing holes in the skirts. I've cut strips of fabric as I can't see well enough to cut small squares. I've backed it with fluffy fabric from an old pair of pyjamas and the quilt wadding is new cotton wadding so it's all washable. I hope both dog and owner like it.

What a lovely blanket - you've used some really colourful fabrics - the dresses must have been gorgeous.

Lovely, brilliant recycling. Strip patchwork is speedy and effective

What a kind thing to do. I’m sure that the dog will enjoy it. If you have any fabric left perhaps you could make more and sell them. Cats also like nice bedding. Just a thought 😊

As much as I want to second Lindsey's idea, cats are a law unto themselves and will likely reject a beautiful, cosy blanket simply "because"
I know because our cats have done precisely this 🙄

Looks very pretty, sure it will be much appreciated.

I know that you are quite right, Icey. Cats always choose the smallest cardboard box, don’t they? I was just trying to be helpful with the suggestion.

How lovely and very kind of you. I don't comment a lot but it's been nice to read about your new home and to see how well you've been setting in. Viv
