Decisions decisions!

Well just one decision really.

Steve  messaged me y'day to tell me he is having another colonoscopy.

I know him well enough to know he will have lied to his Dr about his diet. He will have claimed that he only drinks the occasional lager, he will not admit to drinking 15 -20 cans a day.

He will also claim to eat a balanced diet that includes lots of vegetables, whereas he will be living on spicy chicken wings and eating no fruit or vegetables whatsoever.

Do I contact the surgery and tell them the truth or do I ignore it all and let him deal with the consequences?

I would not call. I am sure the results of the test will reveal the truth eventually.

Ignore.
Do not engage.
Do not allow him free parking in your head.

I think you are right, I will not make contact with the Dr.

I bet the doctor can tell he doesn't take care of himself. Glad you are staying out of it.

Don't contact the Doctor. At best, Steve will paint you as his malicious ex wife. It's no longer your problem, and it's not going to make a difference to Steve (apart from him finding a way to keep you in touch)

Time to truly cut loose, sad but Steve and his problems cannot always be loaded on to you, you need your place and peace in this life and I wish all happiness for you going forward. Jan

Definately do not get involved with this. If you do, the next thing will be, can you help look after him?? NOO, you have done more than enough, 15-20 cans a day if it's big ones, that's pints, the guy is an alcoholic, you tried to help him, he just got nastier, leave well alone my dear x

They'll be able to tell, they see this every day .I wouldn't even reply to him,but I'm not as kind as you

I’m afraid I’m going to say the same as everyone else, stay out of it. Any blood tests Steve has will reveal just how much alcohol there is in system, together with a multitude of other problems. You’ve built a great life away from him so carry on without him.

If it were me, I wouldn't contact the doctor, nor even reply to Steve, he's obviously trying to get you back in his life so he can control you again. If he drinks that much, I'm sure the GP will know - the smell of it must seep out of his pores, if nothing else.

I'm another one in the 'do not engage' camp. The medics will know he is lying.

I'm sure the doctors already know! By his skin, his eyes, his general appearance.

Agreeing with everybody else. The GPS are used to this. Don't let him get into your head.

Definitely do not engage, either with the doctor or Steve. You are just starting to live the life you deserve, don't let him back in at all, in any way. He's a grown man, he has to cope with his life.

Please don't engage with Steve at all. This is an attempt to draw you back in. His GP will certainly be aware. Protect yourself and your peace and happiness.
