I try to buy healthy treats for Beano as I'm concerned about the amount of crap and sugar in some types.
He has nearly finished his bag of air dried chicken feet so I've just bought him some mixed treats.
He has never played with toys despite being provided with a selection but he does play with his treats.
He has to ensure they are properly dead before he decides to chew on them. This involves throwing them around and pouncing on them..
It gives him some entertainment as well as a treat.

Mine loved the chicken fillet ones - I read about problems so tasted one - it tasted bitter - I complained at the shop - assistant said there were no problems they knew of - I asked them to test them - I received an e mail

It's funny how we try to guess what is going on in the pet's mind?!
I expect you enjoy watching him. Our Freddie is also a rescue. The only toy he will play with occasionally is a soft squeaky ball. His favourite treats are hard cheese chews from a local company. He throws them and his kibble around and pounced on them. Dogs are funny.
