Dog treats.

I try to buy healthy treats for Beano as I'm concerned about the amount of crap and sugar in some types.

He has nearly finished his bag of  air dried chicken feet so I've just bought him some mixed treats.

He has never played with toys despite being provided with a selection but he does play with his treats.

He has to ensure they are properly dead before he decides to chew on them. This involves throwing them around and pouncing on them..

It gives him some entertainment as well as a treat.

Mine loved the chicken fillet ones - I read about problems so tasted one - it tasted bitter - I complained at the shop - assistant said there were no problems they knew of - I asked them to test them - I received an e mail
- apparently no problems x

It's funny how we try to guess what is going on in the pet's mind?!

I expect you enjoy watching him. Our Freddie is also a rescue. The only toy he will play with occasionally is a soft squeaky ball. His favourite treats are hard cheese chews from a local company. He throws them and his kibble around and pounced on them. Dogs are funny.

I was once told by a dog breeder that if a puppy isn't played with by the time it is 18 months, it never will. That was certainly true of our rescue labrador who was 3 by the time we got her but we loved her to bits.

Betty doesn't play with her treats, just devours them. She does however like to 'kill' her cuddly toys - shakes them vigorously then chews them. I buy them cheaply from charity shops, no point in buying new ones when she's only going to destroy them. She makes me smile every single day.

We do miss the local Wilkinsons for the inexpensive, natural dog treats, dried tripe, paddywack, and jerky.

I keep a blanket on my sofa, I feel the cold more than Steve, so he wears a tee shirt and rather than have the heating up high I snuggle up ...
