It's mad I know, but I've ordered a sign for when I move.
It's a slate house sign and on it, it will say Cuckoo's Rest.
It will take a while to arrive, but I've decided that when I move, that will be the name of my new home.
The reason behind the name is that my daughter's children call me Cuckoo, many of them have grandparents so although I consider them grandchildren I don't expect them to call me grandma or anything similar. My daughter came up with the name Cuckoo originally as a lot of people think I'm weird.

That's just wonderful! You made me smile after a very busy day. 😁
What a lovely reason for choosing that name. Here we only have house names not numbers so changing our house name would mean changing official records. Too much bother even though I would have preferred a Welsh name though you have to chose carefully. I heard a man in Screwfix give his house name as Ty Bach which translates as Little House but means toilet!
What a lovely name and reason, all worth looking forward to the new house. I have named two houses - The Nuthatch and Checkmate. Moved to two houses already named - Mikado and Witzend. Don’t get me started on names I’ve given to my cars!! Jan
I think that’s a great name and personal to you. Hope the move happens soon.
Sounds terrific! How happy you and Beano will be in Cuckoo's Rest!
I think that's a brilliant name! May you & Beano have peace and rest in your new home!

Future plans and 'nesting in peace' Brilliant, possitivity wins the day, Sandra x
What a brilliant idea! I love that the children call you cuckoo and will enjoy visiting you in your nest. Catriona
You are not weird, even if weird is used to describe people who are different. Good, who wants to be the same as everyone else? I hope your move comes soon, you really need some restful days, pleasing yourself. Carole R
How lovely. Jean
What a lovely name for your new home, the 'grandkids' will love it. I think we are all a bit 'cuckoo' aren't we, it's a very Mancunian saying so I'm well versed. ;-)
Lovely name. Sounds as if you are getting just a little bit excited to move. Hope it comes soon so you can get settled.
That should make the 'grandkids' smile!
I believe that is perfect for you - flis xx
