P333

I read yesterday about Project333, I had to chuckle, these are the rules.

For 3 months you are supposed to manage with just  33 items of clothing, accessories, jewellery, outerwear and shoes.

These items are not counted as part of the 33 items – wedding ring or another sentimental piece of jewellery that you never take off, underwear, sleep wear, in-home lounge wear,  and workout clothing (you can only wear your workout clothing to workout) for 3 months you are only allowed to wear 33 items.

Last weekend I went through my summer dresses, I put one in the bin and the other 3 have been packed away along with my 2 white summer cardigans. For the next approximately 6 months (depending on the temperature) my wardrobe will consist of 3 dresses, 1 pinafore dress, 1 blouse, 2 jackets, 2 cardigans and 2 pairs of boots, 1 pair of earrings and 2 scarves.

So I must be doing the 146 project, it doesn't have the same ring to it does it.

It seems pretty pointless to me too, I thought I was in the minority, so glad to know I'm not the only one.

I have a lot of clothes - some going back years - which every so often I sort out and donate or sell. I too can't see the point of P333. I only wear a couple of outfits at home during the week and a different one to go shopping in. Clean underwear obviously. I think I could manage on a P123.

I am planning a long distance move in a few months and have been culling. I, too, could manage on a 123 plan. I wear my men's lounging pant collection around the house most days. My son has favored only owning 2 prs of jeans and 5 shirts for years,, guess we are weird.

I'm not sure I could find 33 things in my wardrobe either and I have better things to do with my time anyway than sorting through my clothes-x-

Lol don't think that would be much of a challenge to me. I don't really have that many clothes and, now that the weather is cooler, have one pair of 'shoes' I wear, though I will bring out the boots when it snows.

Totally agree with you Hester, P333 strikes me as the sort of caper people indulge in when they have too many clothes and far too much time on their hands. Maybe I'm just jealous as I have nowhere near 33 items of winter clothing. Elizabeth.

Hester, this seems a pointless exercise, doesn't it? I couldn't be bothered to start sorting my wardrobe to make sure I had 33 things for three months, or whatever the sequence is.

pointless for me too...I wear scrubs to work 5 days a week...clothes are low on my priority list...need more but never get around to shopping...definitely in the minority amongst my coworkers who buy new clothes every week

I actually don't understand this challenge.

To be fair it is a challenge that has been helpful to a number of people - and the 333 isn't written in stone - you can adapt it for your own needs. I think the intent is to make us think a bit more about needless buying and cheap fashion (cheap in the sense of constantly and mindlessly buying items that we discard a short time later) - all the while complaining that we have nothing to wear. It makes you think a bit more about what you own, what and why you spend, and how being a bit more thoughtful about things help us all both financially and environmentally.
It's like everything else out there - you may find it interesting & even helpful - or it may not be relevant to your life or your lifestyle. The blog that I occasionally read about this is run by a woman with MS who has looked for ways to simplify her life and this is just one aspect of it so that she can better manage her health and her life in general.

Stew

Y'days lamb was delicious and there is lots left. So today I'm making a stew, I'll use half of the left over lamb and add onion ...
