Today I had to book a hotel room, I needed a specific hotel on a particular date.
A list of prices came up, I had a choice of paying £140 with free WiFi or £150 which included free breakfast and free WiFi.
How silly is that.

I think that is what is called a no brainer.
I get a headache trying to work through all the different permutations and "special offers" whenever you try to book something like this.
When we have booked B & B accommodation the perceived wisdom has been to ring and speak to the owners rather than go through the booking sites and usually cheaper as the booking sites charge the owners a hefty amount.
Think this works with hotels too, but booking can be difficult with chains as cost varies according to location and demand.
There's no such thing as a free lunch (or breakfast in your case).
I'll take the free breakfast without the wifi.....I don't trust the wifi security in those places.
I did phone the hotel booking service and got a slightly better deal eventually. We need the room on a bank holiday weekend and when there is a big event on so I wasn't surprised at the cost.
I'm not bothered about the free WiFi as I'll be to knackered to use it. I am already salivating at the thought of a bed without a gap in it and unlimited hot water.
I hope you enjoy your stay in the hotel.
There's not much that I can see that is "free" ha ha!
