My life in the Country

She and her DH are ok but she has closed her blog as she was tired of people trolling her.

Thank you so much for this I was really worried. Such a shame the trolls have been really active of late. Shame to give them this pleasure of seeing a blog stop and spoil all our pleasure.

That’s a real shame but thanks for letting us know. If she reads this I hope she will understand that we wish her well.x Sue x

Thanks for the update. I had been worrying why it was gone. I hope she comes back one day. I enjoy reading her day to day activities. Hugs and a pox on all trolls.

What can be wrong with these trolls? They spend their time just spoiling positive things for other people. I suppose , having forced one blogger to quit, they move on to another one.

I think that is a real shame, but glad all is well with you. Take care.

You can't have a blog without attracting trolls. If you can't learn to ignore them as the spiteful human beings they are, then you're not going to last long in blogland. I feel like the trolls won this one and that's too bad for all of us.

Thank you-I was really worried today and was praying they hadn’t been affected by the virus. Thank you for letting us know.

Thank you for letting us know. I'm glad they're ok. It's a shame these trolls have nothing better to do with their lives than to ruin others.

Good Evening

Thank you for letting us know. I too had been checking all day and, at first, wondered if it was my computer, then thought it must be trolls. Such a shame for those of us who enjoy reading her blog (sorry, I don't know your name). Sending best wishes to them both.
Also, to you, Steve and Beano :-D

Thank you for letting us know Hester, This lady has been bullied by a persistent troll for a long time - she stopped writing once before a few years back. She is a lovely kind lady and has personally helped me with advice on sewing and patchwork so I've spoken up for her against the troll before now. Strangely when I last gave the troll her answer, someone called 'Pat' rocked up defending the troll - I thought then Ann you may have the name of your troll now. It's such a shame, I followed Ann right from when they lived in a beautiful little cottage in Scotland, must be over 10 years now. Another blogger I've havent heard from for a few weeks is PattyPan at the Tarragon and Thyme blog - I hope she's ok too - you take care xx

Add me to the list of those who thank you for letting us know - I was wondering what had happened. A shame about the troll - anonymous of course I suspect - honestly, you'd think people would at least try to be a bit kinder at this time.

Trolls are big pests in the blogging community! This week I received a particularly vicious attack from a person I'd disagreed with in the past over Cardinal Pell. The news of his acquittal prompted this person to imagine that it signified Pell was innocent. Not so - only "reasonable doubt". I was not about to start up the argument again, so I simply ignored it. I think this annoyed the person even more!

Thank you for posting this Hester. I'm sad to see that the stupid trolls 'won' and that the lady behind the blog closed it down. She was my bit of England from afar and she will be missed in blogland.

So sad that these vindictive people have nothing better to do.

I saw the post that the troll left and my reaction was no one has ever told this person to mind their own business , this virus and the subsequent lockdown seems to have led some people to think they can tell everyone else what they can and cannot do .

Hi Hester thanks for letting us know what happened. I’ve been following Ann since they lived in their cottage in Scotland,. Pleased that she and her husband are okay. Such a shame that the troll caused this problem. Would like to send best wishes to both of them. Ax

I wondered too if there was an anonymous commenter. Why do these people pick on one person. What a shame. I've 'known' Anne for many years way back when we lived in France and she and her husband were making plans for a holiday. I'm glad they are all right and hope she might start again maybe under a different name?

i'm sad that Ann has stopped blogging, i don't understand trolls, if they don't like whats being written why keep reading? i hope Ann might start again after a break xx

I too am sad that Anne felt she had to close down her blog. To me it was a little bit of sanity in a strange world , a bit like a mini Archers . I hope that she will be able to start another , we miss you .
