You've got what!

I've been following a thread on the MSE forum about simplifying live. Mostly it's about people who want to life with less stuff.
Obviously we have less stuff than most because we got rid of everything that didn't fit on the boat.
One post made me chuckle though, someone posted that she only had six handbags and that once she had one more that would be enough.
I don't think I've ever has six handbags at once.
I have a rucksack for when I'm shopping and a small black clutch bag for posh. That's it and I manage very well with just those two bags.

Ha ha, that’s funny. I’ve about the same in knickers!

This is definitely not me. I have a small black handbag that was given to me. If I want to go posh I borrow one. My daughter calls me a cheapskate:)

I have one handbag in use, one waiting as back up as the first one is getting quite elderly and one little black clutch bag for any posh do's.
I used to be a real 'bag lady' and then I saw the light and sold the lot. I got sick of moving things from one to the other all the time.

Been reading your blog awhile. I love it. Its interesting to see how other people around the world live and make ends meet. I'm in the United State. Cleveland Ohio to be exact. And I'm always up for frugal ideas. I have only one handbag. The zipper is broken, the brown outer layer is peeling back. The strap broke so I had my husband put a washer and rivet on it. Until I get to the second hand store this is what I carry. Then when I go to the thrift store the prices are too high or am I just cheap ;-)

If I had something to put in a handbag perhaps I could use the one I have had for 12 years or the other one I have had for 15 years. I rarely use one so I really should give up and get rid of them!

I have 4 all very different and for different purposes. The most I've ever paid for a handbag was £37 for a secondhand Radley which I believe I'll get my money back on.

I use one I bought for 14.95 at an expensive Salvation Army. I’ve been using it for about ten years. I bought a second one from a garage sale for one dollar about two years ago. This is a cross-body which is handy when I go to auctions or garage sales. My sister gave me a Kooba leather backpack style purse. I just pulled it out to see if It is something I could use. I love backpacks but i’m A bit older from when I used them exclusively. She told me to sell it if I couldn’t use it. It runs about 200.00 on eBay! That’s nuts!

Two bags - one (my everyday one, holds everything I would ever need to carry) was regifted to me from my daughter, the other for special occasions came from my mother on her demise. I'm not proud!

I have 7 bags - 3 were bargains and 4 were expensive. However, I am very fussy about bags and I look after them and keep them forever. I do not anticipate adding any to this collection for at least another 5 years or more.

I don't use handbags at all and don't possess one not even for posh. I carry bank cards in one of those coin bags you get from the bank in my pocket and when the bag wears out I chuck in the bin and use another one. (I do not find it always necessary to carry bank cards with me in any case so they usually stay at home). I carry a handkerchief in my pocket and my railcard and my phone.
