The weather here is currently windy with occasional sunny spells and sudden outburst very heavy showers.
Because of Beano's well known opinion of rain we tend to make a mad dash into the nearby park inbetween the bursts rain.
We did this yesterday, a few minutes into our walk and Beano spotted a small black dog. Beano has turned into a sociable little chap this year and he immediately ran towards the dog.
Then Beano stopped in his tracks, when what looked like a low flying fluorescent yellow kite flew across the grass. Beano, deciding that discretion was the better part of valour, ran off in the opposite direction.
We carried on through the park, Beano sniffing happily. Suddenly the yellow kite reappeared and Beano took off at a run, the kite, now shown to be a Jack Russell in an oversized raincoat, in hot pursuit.
At some point Beano realised he was being chased, not by a flapping yellow monster, but by a small friendly dog so he turned back to enjoy a game of chase and what fun they had together!

Aww ... I'm glad he figured it out. The only time my elderly Pug comes to life these days is when she is being fed or when she meets a fellow little dog out on our doggy walks, the rest of the time she is snoring.
You are exactly the kind of dog owner I hate. My dog is a rescue dog and is scared of other dogs, the sight of Beano racing towards him would have made him terrified and he'd wet himself. I can't understand the mentality of people who think all dogs are like theirs, often they'll call out It's OK he's friendly while my dog cowers to the ground wetting himself. Pease have some consideration for other people and their dogs and stop being so cruel.
That was all a bit of excitement for Beano wasn't it-I was worried at first bless him-one of mine is spooked with lots of things especially big dogs rushing up to him and runners and cyclists-Beano should have some interesting dreams tonight x
That was a fun anecdote, Hester. I hope it doesn't scar Beano for life!
