Morning dog walk.

This morning's walk was very sociable, the sunshine seems to have brought lot's of people out.

I pass some very pretty gardens on this walk, one has little elephants, temples and coloured stones to form a river. I always stop to admire it and this morning the house owner was by their car ready to go shopping. I told him how much I liked his garden, he seemed pleased.

There is someone I see who walks a Bernese Mountain dog, I crossed the road as I could see he was getting close. He called out to me, he thought I was afraid, telling me that his dog was friendly. I explained that I was not afraid but that Beano was not a fan of big dogs and would no doubt start to growl.

I met two other dog walkers with their small dogs, Beano was quite happy to socialise with them.

Yesterday's post about the lardy cake brought back memories of going to Pewsey to visit my Nan's relations, there was a bakery in Sharcott (back many years ago) that sold really good lardy cakes. Glad you had an enjoyable day.
Our granddaughter has a Chug, not much bigger that a Chihuahua and he really does not like big dogs either, really yaps at them!! Small dog syndrome!

I love the garden idea of the nice man - quite spiritual - Dog walking can be so interesting can't it - One of my dogs barks at nothing - he just likes chatting the vet says - another one barks at bigger dogs like your Beano cos he's scared poor thing x

I have a Labrador and a Jack Russel. The Jack Russel definitely has small dog syndrome. She totally ignores other small dogs and goes crazy when she sees big dogs. The Labrador on the other hand tries to love everybody to death.

That garden sounds beautiful.

My brother used to have a dog that was a handful at the best of times and would ALWAYS challenge dogs bigger than him - preferably those twice his size. It sounds like Beano is the same - the opposite of a bully that won't pick on anyone smaller than him. Please pass on gentle scritches.

Walkies!

Beano gets more walks in the summer than in the winter. It's not the weather, we neither of us mind the cold. It's the shortness of ...
