Witch Hazel, my hearing aids are pretty good, there is a definite improvement. I can now hear the grandchildren when they speak to me but I still have problems if there is a lot of background noise.
The big thing for me is the Bluetooth facility as it enables me to use the phone, listen to music and watch a film without subtitles.

Wish I could persuade my BiL that he ought to get a hearing aid. Although he reckons it's only women's voices that he doesn't hear well!
Glad you are hearing better, I wear aids also and have the same problem as you with background noise. I think I expect too much from a machine, nothing replaces normal hearing, so I just live with it.

Hester thank you for the update, I have been wondering how you are getting along with them, I have NHS aids, but considering going along the private digital route, first off intending to part with chunk of cash to have them micro suction cleaned.
