Silence

 Apologies for the silence.

I'm very bored and boring currently.

I'm missing my knitting and crochet, most of my craft cupboards are empty.

I need more cerushields for my hearing aids, something that should be perfectly simple to obtain but seems to involve numerous phone calls and complicated bus journeys.

I seem to have developed another eyesight problem which is making reading difficult.

My neighbour Gill has left the marina, her boat is up for sale.

So unfortunately I have very little to write about.

Oh Hester you sound positively pi**ed off and I don't blame you. You've been given a raw deal throughout covid with your hearing aids, everything has been so complicated. You said your eyesight is bad can you knit/crochet with thicker wool, bigger needles etc?

Hope you find something that lifts your spirits soon. X

I’m so sorry to hear about your problems. The Audiology department here in Northern Ireland is terrific and staffed with lovely, helpful people. They have pop in clinics at the local church which is a lovely idea. People without hearing or sight problems can have little insight to the problems we have. What a shame that your friend has gone. I hope that someone nice buys the boat. Remember, everyone knows how you feel. These feel like desperate times, don’t they? Take care and best wishes.

Life can be a burden at times but good things are sure to be around the corner. Chin up!

Do you have a mailing address? I might be able to arrange someone in the UK who has a bit of extra yarns to help you out. And, I'm sure you don't have AUDIBLE but I do and I have a credit of 10 books free, which I won't use since I really don't like books on tape... maybe we can work out something where I can transfer these credits to you for use - I have a free "app" which I downloaded to my computer to play the books that I did listen to before I realized I didn't like them. I can have the tv on and do other things but I can't concentrate enough when listening to a novel.
Be well and don't feel that you have to write a huge post or one that will be scintillating - just to drop in with a few lines of what you think is boring might be interesting to us, your distant friends.

It's not a secret.

Y'day while Steve was out with his friend Bob, Betty phoned and asked if I'd like to go and get the cheap vegetables from the nearby...
