The marina staff took pity on us and moved the boat for us and we were able to get a pump out, also as we were so close to the elsan we were able to carry the porta potty and empty it.

We tend to take creature comforts for granted ..... until they disappear! Modern plumbing, hot water, internet ... My internet is blinking off and on this morning for some reason and no repair until 6-7 tonight. Just had my freezer repaired and now have hot water to my kitchen sink! We appreciate them more when we have had to do without. Most of this is more immediate for you though!
Oh my goodness, thank heavens for that. It must have been an awful worry, wondering how to get over those difficulties. I hope Steve's back soon gets better and that the marina soon returns to normal.
This is good news! I am so happy to hear something pleasant today.
Well thank goodness for that!
Sometimes all it needs is for one person to see the difficulty that someone is having and do something about it!
I'm a bit surprised that the marina staff didn't help you before it got so difficult for you both, but did they know, or were you just struggling on?
We've just had our bathroom remodelled, and although the plumber agreed to put the loo back and connect it every evening, due to difficulties with the concrete for the floor (should have been fast drying, it wasn't!) we had 53 hours with no loo at all! We're both very adaptable, so managed with a bucket for the first night, with a guarantee from the plumber that the next night would be fine. Concrete had finally dried, underfloor heating was laid, new 'fast drying' concrete on top of that, which would be dry in 4 hours, right? Wrong! Yet again there was a mistake, they used the fast drying stuff, but made the mix too wet, so it wasn't dry enough for the loo to go back for a second night. I lost the plot with the plumber then, and made him book us into a Travelodge for the night!
It was actually just what we needed, husband bought pies, sandwiches and canned drinks from Tesco Express, and we abandoned ship! We sat on the bed for a picnic supper, had a great night's sleep, made full use of the loo, had lovely hot showers, and went home fully refreshed!
From then on, the plumber knew that if we were left without a loo at all, I would be deducting an enormous amount from his payment!!!
It made us really appreciate having a proper, flushable loo, so I really felt for you whilst you were so badly 'inconvenienced'! I'm sorry, I just had to get the word 'convenience' in here somewhere!
Hope Steve's back starts getting better quickly, and we get some sunshine to brighten your life!
Take care,
Col. X
Quite a relief. Hope that you are staying safe.
