Beano

Beano's foot is much improved, getting medication into him is, as usual, a riot.

He is very suspicious when he is given a treat.

If he does take the treat he is likely to eject the tablet once he discovers it!

I've tried cheese, cheese spread, yoghurt, meat paste, a sweetie and with all these he ate the treat and spat the tablet back out.

Eventually he took it with a small slice of ham, not packet sliced ham, real ham cut from a joint. Fortunately he only has to take them for five days so our budget should survive!

Have you tried crushing the tablets, between two spoons for example? He might take the remedy more easily.

Animals have a highly sensitive nose and they can smell when something is not quite as it should be. Glad you have found something that works to get the meds into him.
Wishing you and yours a very Merry Christmas and hope you have a wonderful 2023 in your new home.

Yes my little Biewer will take medication in ham, but it’s the cheaper ham, I just roll up the tablet with the ham, he loves it!!

My cat will take a tablet if it's been stuffed into a piece of tinned corned beef and moulded like a Scotch Egg

Poor Beano! My friend's dog has his tablets tucked inside little pieces of what are called Knacki here - frankfurter sausages. He loves them so much that they are swallowed in a flash before he realizes there's a tablet inside! He has a piece as a treat every evening, so he just thinks it's his every day treat.

I used to put pills in a cube of spam with a slot cut in it worked every time pity it didn't work on kids. I hope you have a lovely Christmas in your new home.

It's fun finding out what a dog will take tablets in, isn't it? (Not).
Fish worked best with my PennyDog (maysherestinpeace).

I lay out several pieces of hot dogs. Feed them one after the other. Dig swallows them without chewing. Pill is in middle piece.

New neighbours.

A couple of days ago I met the couple who have purchased one of the flats here. The flat is over two floors, has two bedrooms, two bathrooms...
