Sunday

I cooked roast beef today. A few weeks ago I got so fed up of Steve ruining every joint he bought that I started cooking the roast on Sunday's. Steve refused to follow the cooking instructions on the joint so lunch sometimes wasn't ready until 8:30 in the evening. He also ended up in tears most Sunday's.

Today he complained as he wanted a sprout with his meal and I forgot, I also cut the the carrot into the wrong shape.

I don't think I'll bother to cook next week, I'll suggest he heat up some of his party food.

I enjoyed the meal but it's a waste cooking a full roast dinner just for me.

It also means I can't go to the summer house on Sunday's if I'm in the kitchen cooking.

I've also changed my hairstyle, for years I've worn my hair pinned up at the back with a claw clip. My hair is now to long so I'm wearing it in a plait over my shoulder.

Wonder if Steve messed up so you would cook and not leave the house on
Sunday?

Can you cook the roast on Saturday instead. Good cold or reheated on Sunday and you can go to the Summerhouse on Sunday.

I live alone so always cook a roast 'just for me'. If you cook and portion the meat and freeze it, all you have to do on the day is the veg, takes me half an hour. I have a whole selection of boxes in my freezer, beef and gravy, lamb and gravy, pork and gravy. Also mince and gravy and liver and kidney and gravy. I love my home cooked food too much. I did it before my husband died too as he only liked chicken or liver.

If you enjoy a Sunday roast, then it's never a waste. Just, as suggested above, maybe don't make it on a Sunday?

I like Sally's suggestion about freezing portions so you can enjoy your roast on any day.

I would cook a roast the day that suited me - Your plait sounds nice - You could weave ribbon or coloured wool through if the fancy took you x

My personal point of view is that you should cook whatever suits you and cook it whenever suits you as Steve will grumble regardless.

I bet your hair looks awesome. Does it feel better?
