All done

My lovely mother in law died at 1:30 today.
We were phoned by FIL at 9:30 this morning and set off soon after, we were there by 10:30.
BIL wasn't there, he'd been asked to leave after starting a brawl with FIL.
FIL, my hubby and another daughter in law sat with MIL, I stood beside hubby.
The rest of the family waited elsewhere in the hospice, unable to sit and watch.

Sorry to hear it, but glad that she died peacefully and with family around her. That's the best anyone can have.

She's out of pain and all the drama, and at least you and hubby got to spend another few hours with her when it meant the most. Glad to hear BIL was excluded - how could he be so nasty to his own father - and mother - at a time like this?

MIL is at peace and you have done your very best to make her last days calm and peaceful. I hope BIL behaves himself now, mind you if he had POA I guess he might also be executor.mmmmm

Sorry to hear about your MIL but glad that those who wanted to be, were able to sit with her at the end. Ironic isn't it, that after trying to keep everybody away, your BIL wasn't there himself and not through choice. xx

Deepest sympathies to both you and L&M.
No matter how old you are, when you lose a parent you feel like an orphan. It's a sad, strange feeling.

I hope that you get to spend some special time on yourself to refresh and recharge as you have been stretched to the very edge and beyond.

Thoughts to you both.

So sorry to hear that your MIL passed away, you fought so hard to get her the care she needed in her last days, so she died peacefully and without pain.

I am thinking about you at what is a very difficult time, please take care and rest, I fear there may be more battles to come.

I also hope that your BiL calms down and carries out his mother's wishes in an honest way. without causing any more upset. Big (((((((HUG))))))) for you and hubby in your loss.xx

From Margie in Toronto - so sorry for your loss. Please take some comfort in knowing that you did the best you could and that you fought to get her the best care possible. All the best to you and your family.

My sympathy to you, to your husband, and to all who loved your sweet MIL.

It sounds you were as fortunate as I was in that the men we love both had wonderful mothers and we lucked out in the MIL department. My sweet MIL died just over a year ago and we still miss her so much.
