Is it really that strange?

My beloved is used to me using my crystals.
He is used to me using tarot cards.
He is used to me foraging.
He is used to me making soup from nettles and veg peelings.

But earlier this week I did something so strange that he is still disturbed by it.

I don't like to waste food, so when I had half a tin o baked beans left I decided to have them for lunch. I also had a bagel left from a pack I bought earlier.
I thought it was perfect reasonable to toast the bagel and heat up the beans to eat. To me it was just like beans on toast.

My beloved thinks it's the weirdest thing I've ever done!

Scrumptious-just me kind of lunch.

Catriona, his excuse is that bagels are eaten like a sandwich, but then so is bread.

Sounds good to me.

Nothing weird about it to me! Bagels are often served "open faced" with different toppings.

It was the obvious thing to do. Don't like waste in this house either.

After writing the above I went down to the kitchen to find my hubby making his evening meal. a toasted hamburger bun split in two and on each half lettuce, sliced raw onion, the last of a tin of baked beans (cold), the leftover tuna from yesterday's tin cucumber and tomato.

Oooh,he has a lot to learn! Bagels are bread, therefore toast!
His loss though, I'll bet you really enjoyed it!

Perfectly acceptable, just a variation of beans on toast. Now cold baked beans (as above) I can't do!

That's good, most of you seem to agree with me that it's just like beans on toast.

But all of that is perfectly normal.

Also, just beans on toast. DH does cheese on (bagel) toast for him and bear. He recommends it.

I live in the US, eating baked beans on any kind of bread product is seen as very strange!

It's not a secret.
