I've been trying to sort out an access number for the census, me and thousands of other boaters, travellers and itinerants. It took until yesterday lunchtime for someone to work out what we have to do to be counted. There is lots of information on the ONS website most of which is totally erroneous as their staff have not been trained/don't give a flying fcuk.
Gotta love a system that threatens fines of eleventy billion squid for not filling in the form but when we try to access said form "computer says no".Sunday, 21 March 2021

I was wondering just yesterday how you were going to fill in your census form when you don't actually have a permanent address. (I don't want that to sound like 'no fixed abode'). Well, actually I was wondering how you'd even get a form or access number in the first place, where would they send stuff to, do they know exactly where you're moored?
It's just another thing for you to sort out, which of course would have been an absolute doddle, due to all the staff being so well trained and 'on the ball'.....not! X
Now that's a problem that hasn't been thought about by the powers-that-be. I'm pretty sure that many in your position wouldn't bother trying to find that information, so there will be a significant number of the population not counted, or provided for in the years to come.
Where would we be without fines. You'll have to pay a fine to blink soon, lol

how typical of government rules... websites etc. Your "trials" remind me of trying to get a vaccine appointment!
That's interesting, had not thought about that until you blogged about it. I'm into family history and the entry for a distant relation who was a bit of a 'black sheep' reads, abode, slept in a shed.
Hope you have it sorted so you can be counted. Silly government.
My mil aged 89 had a letter saying she had to fill the form in on line or else ,it took two days to get through to order her a paper form , meanwhile my daughter a tech savvy 30 year old had a paper copy arrive out if the blue .
They are a complete shower .
