This morning I shed a few tears when I read that Sabine Schmitz has died, she was only 51 and had been battling cancer since 2017.
She was brilliant, known as the Queen of the Nürburgring she originally appeared on Top Gear in 2004 and many times after that.

One of my favorite Top Gear moments was when she was driving the Nurburgring Ring in a Ford Transit van - and overtaking all those fancy motorcycles and high-end sports cars. In a van!
Ripping out the seats to get a bit more speed out of the van too Amanda.
Yeah, but the guys she was passing didn't know that!
I had a bit of a weep too, she was such a lovely, funny, vital person, and one hell of a driver!
She was a woman in a man's world, and doing almost everything better than the men, what an inspiration she was!
I hope she's got her foot to the floor now, tearing around a track and having fun!
