A special kind of hell

Today my beloved decided we needed to go on a shopping trip.

Not just any old shopping trip.

He needed to go to Ikea, to choose the sofa bed for the boat we haven't chosen yet.

Next he needed go to Dunelm to choose the bar stools for said boat.

He'd never been to Ikea before, I told him he'd hate it.

I told him how he'd have to walk through all the rooms.

He didn't believe me.

He does now.

I fecking hate shopping.

I’m so sorry - your post made us laugh out loud. Award yourself a medal for “patience in the line of unwarranted shopping”. x

I always get lost in Ikea! I never seem to see it all and somehow miss what I want...I hope he believes you now!
At least Dunelm isn't as massive...is this a personality change since his stroke?
Hang in there!!!

The doors that look like they go to a warehouse or employee in various spots are shortcuts. Had an employee help me find the restroom. I agree with the shopping part. Been to IKEA three times and only used my birthday coupon and had a meal. I would not be buying anything for a home that I did not own yet. Ana USA

I worked for Ikea wednesbury for 8 years when my daughter was little , When you go to the top of the stairs turn right as if going to the restaurant and you will see the entrance to marketplace , This cuts out all the room displays , I think the layout is similar in other Ikeas.

hi!

If IKEA had been around at the time of Jhenonimus Bosch, then IKEA would of taken centre stage in his 'Hell and the Flood'painting with lots of blue and yellow blobbed about. Such a nasty place!

Love your blog! Greetings from Holland.

I agree with M from Holland. Definitely a work by Bosch! I went once and once was enough. Never again! (shudders violently at the memory).

Shopping id at the bottom of my list too. I go early in the morning so I don't have to deal with too many people. I don't think I could even attempt to navigate an IKEA. Its just too much stuff.

I love their products but by God I hate their shops and having to traipse through all those damn rooms designed to trap you!

Today.

I'm cooking the Sunday roast again today, I can't face another ruined meal at 8 o'clock at night with Steve either in a strop or...
