That's why I've not posted, I've nothing interesting to say.
I just whinge on and on and it's boring.
I've now had a message to say the bloody tenant has buggered up the patio doors.
I'm fuming, they are due to leave at the end of January, fuck me, couldn't they have gone a whole month without breaking something!

Just get the patio doors repaired and keep the amount back from their deposit. Problem solved.
I know, it's just hassle I could do without at the moment.
Sorry you are going through such a rough time - hopefully you will look back on it and be able to see it in a better light.

You could write a book of 999 reasons not to be a landlord and why the heck were they using the patio doors in winter!
Dont give them any of their deposit back, they have been terrible tenants. Keep your chin up girl, hopefully things will get better. Have you found another boat yet or are you still looking?
Is it just me being a cynical old bat, or does anyone else think it was a deliberate move on the tenant's part?
I need to take legal advice about how much deposit I can keep back, I have a list of all the things I've paid out for.
I really hope 2019 is better for you than 2018 has been.

Yes..keep part of the deposit money for the doors. That person is more trouble than they are worth....
My friend said she stopped renting to women..they complained too much!!!!
Be careful they don't have more items that need replacing or fixed. Seems your tenents don't know how to take care of a house.
I hope this year is a better one for you. One that doesn't need foul mouthed swearing including in your posts. The B word is bad enough but the F word is too much. It's your blog and you can write what you like but is it really necessary to use the awful f word?
All the best for 2019 I hope it's better than this year has been. Once the tenants have gone and the house is sold life will get better. I have good tenants thank heavens but I know they don't look after my house like their own for sure.
Not sure who your deposit is registered with. With our last tenants we used TDS and they handled the deposit return for us - the tenants claimed all the deposit, I claimed I wanted about 90% of it (due to repairs required/ not notified about/ state it was left in/ unpaid rent) - my claim for 90% coming to me was upheld. Was relatively simple (if a little nerve wracking until repayment)
Hopefully it will go smoothly form hereon..
I'm pretty sure I used TDS too.

I'm female and I've rented for many years but always treated the houses as if they were my own, because to me they were my home. I cannot understand why some tenants deliberately abuse the places where they live knowing they will then live in dreadful and filthy conditions.
I hope you get repaid in full for all your expenses when they move out - and no references for them, either. (How do people manage to rent anywhere without references?)
