It's a 6 mile round trip to empty the rubbish from where we are at the moment. I was going to do it today but it's been raining, maybe I'll do it tomorrow.
It makes you think very carefully about what you buy when it is so difficult to get rid of your rubbish.

Quite a difference to just putting out at the end of your driveway, like here! I am still careful to generate as little trash as possible.
We try to be careful too. I make a point of never throwing away food. I find some way of using it up. We have had some very odd meals!
My goodness that is quite the ordeal just for the rubbish. It is certainly not the easy idyllic life I once thought.
