My son had similar feelings about his wife who is an invalid. They have all their food delivered by Tesco and have really got into the habit now and wouldnt hsve it any other way.
That's very nice and how sweet of him to worry for you. I am sure it also gives him a sense of purpose. It also gives you a well needed break. All my friends in the U.K. are my age (76) and have their shopping delivered. Here some of my friends drive to the store at a fixed time to pick up an online order. We still go in ( masked) as we like to look at items. Many times we get meal ideas or bargains which lead to new ideas for meals.
Your detailed list of what to buy and what NOT to buy is a good way of working out the shopping while Steve gets to keep you safe. You are great at adapting, Hester!
I have to admit we had never shopped in Asda or had online deliveries. We are delighted with the service from Asda home delivery even if it adds a nit to the cost of our bill. At 71’ we are trying our best to keep safe and not rely on our already stressed daughter. We’ll be sticking with home delivery if possible as my husband hates any form of shopping.
You are fortunate to have a "personal shopper"! I am still trotting to my local store once a week as I also like to see what's available or on offer, but I do go at a time when it's not too busy.
