Muppets

Kethry I have a daughter in law who is in the same position as your husband. She feels the same way.

I know we were lied to but that is what politicians do, they lie through their teeth.

I truly believe that it doesn't matter which party gets in things will not improve.

My sister in law was in the same position but took out U.K. citizenship earlier this year as a safety measure. She has lived in the U.K. long enough to know that she wants to remain

I'm in the opposite position. I've lived in France for 30 years but years ago when I asked about citizenship for my kids I was told "oh they don't need it as they are British". My oldest son was born in the US (American father) and the second was born in Switzerland (but has no right to Swiss citizenship). They are anglo-american. I'm pretty sure they will both be OK - one married to a Swiss and the other married to a French girl, but here am I stuck in limbo, can't move forward on citizenship (it will take 2 years IF you're lucky) because nobody can tell us what we need to provide. It's all "in the event of a deal" or "in the event of no deal"! I should be ok ultimately as I meet all the requirements but there will be that 2+ year period of time where we will be in limbo. PLUS the French citizenship tests are not exactly a walk in the park. My sister, on the other hand, married a Dane (now divorced) and has lived in Denmark for 40 years but never took out Danish citizenship as she would have to give up her British citizenship. So we are both caught in limbo in a bloody situation for which none of us had the right to vote. My other sister said it was quite right that we didn't get to vote as we don't live in the UK - to which my response was "who sitting at this table is the most affected by bloody Brexit? You or me?". And all these super trade deals they are talking about? Ha, even the WTO Director-General brought Boris's pie-in-the-sky claims down more than a peg or two recently. But now, it is what it is, and I say get on with it. But democratic? Not in a million years! And the scary part is that the posturing idiots who are running the place are just that - posturing idiots.

Thank you for your answer, Hester, I appreciate that. I guess we'll just have to see how it all works out.

This weeks veg box.

Another nice selection of fruit and veg for this week, I'll share it with Betty again.
