God said Let there be light.

But Housing 21 say bugger off, you're old and we dont care about you!

We've had no outside lighting now since y'day. This means the lights don't work in our corridor. The upstairs corridors seem to be ok but I'm having to carry a torch otherwise I can't see to leave the flat.

The lights in the car park and gardens aren't working so it is very dark and dangerous

I've sent the housing association a stinking email as the manager is saying she will be here next Tuesday to check the lights.

We can't possibly wait five days to get this problem sorted!

I should think this would clearly be considered a health and safety issue to the majority of the residents x

I think it is definitely a Heath and safety issue. Point out to them that if anyone falls and is insured, they could sue. The ambulance services would have problems finding people. And in the event of an emergency evacuation, you need lights. "I'll come next week" is not good enough. Landlords and Managers have a legal responsibility

It's frustrating and concerning to hear about the lack of outside lighting, especially when it poses safety risks for residents like yourself. It's understandable that you've reached out to the housing association for immediate action. Hopefully, they'll address the issue promptly to ensure the safety and well-being of everyone in the community.

Just the mention that you are partially sighted and will sue them if you have an accident, should be enough to make fixing the lights a priority. They are no doubt quick to take your service charge when it's due so they should be just as quick to fix faults when they are reported to them
