Here we go again.

On Monday we booked tickets to attend a local open air carol concert.

This morning we had a message to say it's been cancelled due to covid!

Steve watched more snooker today, I watched Who Do You Think You Are.

I'm hoping to find the Alistair Sim version of Christmas Carol somewhere to watch, it's my favourite.

That must have been a big disappointment. Is it because of the new variant? My favourite Christmas movie is "Love Actually" which I have watched every Christmas since it was made.

How can they cancel to Covid? Being in the open air should be safeguarded, yet we can go inside to cinema, pub, and restaurants ! Madness!!

Cancelling due to Covid sounds like a weak excuse, although I suppose it's down to how close folk may be sitting to one another.
I'm an enormous Alistair Sim fan, and if we lived closer, would be happy to lend you my DVD of Scrooge, but you're in the south east, and I'm in the north west, so.........not really an option. My favourite A.S. film is Green For Danger, if you've not seen it, keep an eye out for it! Obviously An Inspector Calls is up there too!
Much as I love 'proper' Christmas films, such as Elf (but loathe Will Ferrell in anything else), It's a Wonderful Life, Miracle on 34th St, I have to admit that my absolute favourite film to watch over the festive period is Die Hard, I love, love, love it!
I've not even started getting ready for Christmas yet, our grandson's presents are here, as are a few for son and daughter in law, but as far as food etc is concerned, I have a Waitrose collection booked for this Saturday and that's my lot. The meats are all ordered, but somehow this year I've slipped up somewhere, no cake, pudding, mince pies or butter tarts made and it's a bit late now, although I do have a couple of recipes for last minute cake and pudding, I shall have to pull my finger out and get on with them!

Can you access YouTube? I just searched there and found the Alistair Sims film in its entirety, both black and white, and colorized, for free viewing. I have the DVD because, like you, it's my absolute favorite Christmas movie.
